Why do you believe in ghosts and spirits?

Why I believe ~ it has more than been proven to me in personal and through investigations that "ghosts" "spirits" are real - there is an after life, in my opinion. The most validating one for me is that of my late "step" son. Through this devistation there came a piece of mind but it took time. He came through in a picture 7 months after he had passed. There are EVP's that had confirmed what I had question in what was going on.

We moved an "ex" girlfriend of his in not long after he had passed - continued shock is what I would most likely relate this too. . .something to "hold" so to say. Our house turned in a manner that I hadn't seen before . . .so much communication. I thought, being in it, that I was "loosing it" "going crazy" but I would be later validated of my surroundings and current events of pure sanity. We had EVP's of "just get her out of here" and so many more, come to find out , this young lady had been stealing from us and so forth - I kept my end of the bargain because I believe in keeping my word when within my power and after graduation, had her move out. I couldn't believe with my research how I couldn't see the signs but I was too involved "in it" at the time.

There is a "little boy" my sister and I used to play with when we were about 2-3 years old ~ a man man and young girl that my sister and I used to see as we were little in Ohio when we were about 4-5 years old. Jumping to the age of about 31 there are 2 spirits I was aware of in a house my husband and I had bought. I have heard what has been explained to be that of "ghost voices" since I can remember and seems to become stronger to me through every investigation. There are things that I have heard that no one else hears and later through going through our evidence - you hear me ask our fellow investigators the exact words that were picked up on the recorders. I am not crazy and I fear some think I might be.
I don't do this to "find" my loved one - I know where he is. My work and research is to confirm life after death and to help those I/we can who are fearful and do not understand the things going on around them of within their home.

I have had many experiences in my life even before I knew what they were~started as a child for me about the age of 2. I now understand the stories my mother has told me when I myself was too little to know. I do believe in negative energies because not often but I have been faced with them on 2 occasions in my life. Being a past carpenter, I always look for the obvious and let my work - pictures, evp's and videos show the proof, if any.

This is more than an interest / hobby for me - this is a passion.

Personally, I believe that the phenomenon exists, and have experienced personally a great many creepy things... but I remain unconvinced that the cause of ghost phenomena is the spirits of the dearly departed trying to communicate from beyond the grave. I just haven't seen any real evidence of it. (yet)

I suppose I became convinced of the unexplained when I heard my first and last name called out by a woman at 3:15 am while real-time monitoring and have the recording as empirical evidence to prove it. Analyzed at 95 Hz with flat vocal banding characteristics that a human couldn't replicate. For that matter, I live alone and I don't sound like a woman :)

It started when I was five and saw a woman in my room. At that age, I didn't know what she was or wasn't but as time went on I finally figured out I saw a ghost. This woman has been with me and my family continually from then on. She has been seen by friends, my husband, my children, and my grand daughter. I haven't seen her since I was five, but there are ways she lets us know she is still around. I have seem to collect more spirits with every house I have lived in, or maybe they just seem to be more active around us. There seems to be a young girl in this house. I have seen a small shadow person twice around Christmas, and giggling has been heard in the middle of the night on our porch. (we live in the boonies).
Now I investigate and after hearing EVPs, there is no way I cannot believe in ghosts.

Hi Thomas, my first experience was when i was about 6 we lived in this house and it was alway creepy to me, and one night i needed to go to the bathroom, i went with my sister, i could hear noises outside the door, but didn't think anything of it, but i remember so clearly to this day that as we were going back to bed, i just happened to look up, and across the dining room table, there was a figure just standing looking right at me it looked like it had a black hooded cloke, and it was was waving to me to come to it with it finger, i just shut my eyes, and was scared the rest of the night. there are so many thing that i have wittness. or felt, just some scary stuff,

My wife experienced some weird things in a house we used to live in. She saw a shadow person, and we knew the guy that died there. She told him she was trying to watch tv and told him to sit down and watch it with her. She then felt something sit down on the couch next to her. My 2 daughters wouldn't even go upstairs, not even to get their clothes. Why not!?!?!? I guess for me its because I have grown up with an open mind & my family was the same way. They didnt discourage me to have this & they pointed things outto me, when appropriate. I was always allowed to embrace life, death etc. I remember when I was just maybe 6, my great aunt started telling me that I was special & had as she called it "the gift" from my family. And my kids now have this also. I do know from experience that close minded people could look at the very same pic as an open minded person & see nothing. This has personally happened to me. So for me its just part of my daily life. So, believing is easier then not! We cannot be the only thing there is on earth!

My name is Bryan and i believe because when i was 9 i was awoken in the middle of the night by an old man sitting at the end of my bed.At first i thought i was dreaming but then as time went on and the man began to speak to me i realized that it was no dream.I turned out to be my grandfather,he talked to me all night telling me that he loved me and would always be watching over me.Then around 6 am. my father came to my door to wake me up for school and as soon as he started to open my door my grandfather disappeared.I didn't mention anything to my father about the experience.Later that afternoon when my brother,sisters and myself got home from school our father sat us all down and told us our grandfather had died the night before.Ever since that night i have believed,and i began to become interested in the paranormal and began to study anything i could find on ghosts and hauntings.I am now 23 and i have started my own paranormal investigating team,we are just starting to get more equipment to help us on our investigations and will hopefully have some evidence to share very soon.I have since learned that what happened that night was what is known as a crisis haunting.I will never forget that night as long as i live...

The reason I believe in the Paranormal is because I grew up with it. Since all this is now all out in the open. I don't fell like an out cast in the world. I am always looking for answer for my own personal experiences and looking for new ways of understanding them. I believe the unexplained is the coolest thing to experience.

When I was in kindergarden I had a friend named Sarah but this friend was all so, at home, in the car, at stores ect. with us she was so very real to me but no one else could see her. she went away after my parents told me she got hit by a car and was dead. To a 6 year old what is dead really? But I never seen her again. I have seen spirits all my life none as clear as Sarah but enough to know they were human spirits. And if I'm not crazy I have a tag along spirit it just won't leave me alone every scence our home burned down when I was 10 and we moved to an old house I have add this spirit that goes with me everywhere at least it seems because the whispers of my name happen all the time and the footsteps and that chill when you know your not alone.
